To taste a real livelier Beijing,

you may be well suggested to take part in the viva of this 023.jpgcity, just at your leisure getting to know your travel accompanies-once saying hi to them, the strangeness immediately goes away- It's also a core part of Beijing's tradition to encourage free minds&thoughts communicating, despite of disparities in languages, cultural backgrounds or religious orientations. Or at least, the city is a seedbed providing quite a few quiet, nice places where, very likely you may spend all the afternoon in the cosy sofa, by large bright windows and plants, sipping your black coffee, reading books in your native language, a novel, fashion magazines, or art volumes...Under such comfortably homy amenities, casual passer-bys may run into ya to talk of some far and remote topic, but your travel will never feel lonely...

The Bookworm Library-

Beijing's unique micro-library housing 1'600 books, hand-picked from cross the south of England to over 14'000 non-fictions, Beijing&China relevant materials and books-biography, history, philosophy, current affairs, travel and children books. It is also a place hosting book talks, writers releasing new books, book members discussions and activities.

The ancient book store in Nanluogu Alley- Chuanyun(literally meaning passing fortune along) Bookstore -

cosy and nice, selling books in humane art fields, which is a site especially collecting creative art publishcations. Address: Just wander along the Alley, it'll show up. Numerous other book bars and book stores are dispersed half-hidden over turning corners of the maze-like alleys here, actually most cafes provide with a handsome storage of old books..just like one day i passed a tooth-like small bar, peeping at piles of Lonely Planet books and National Geography mags on the floor-anyone in there free to read. And these bars are usually open from morning 10 when sunshine just starts to brighten and warm the book shelves; day-time here is always quiet, only with singing birds that are hidden from ancient trees.

Another feature is there are some underground theaters in the Alley too, staging on experimental plays and at nights, playing special movies. 1
