EpisodeI:Interaction - J (24, Beijinger, translator) ; S (29, Japanese-American, photographer)

Woken up from her late morning sleep, J couldnt forget the scenes that showed up again and again in her dreams now still half looming but vividly in front of her eyes - that was in a dark-blue night, air permeated with unreal smog, she was on back of a young elephant, in rush heading for airport, where a poet, her beloved, was waiting.

Most of the times she is alone in the city, under huge caves of subway, tides of people going blind. S is a girl J caught sight of one day as she was passing a public map board. When J passed her, she was very carefully looking into the map of Beijing, but her big-sized protruding camera against her thin waist, thus attracting attention. She is an independent photographer, freelancer, working on sevearal photography programs which involves discovering and revealing the unknown edgy people's living in metropolis. She was born in Tokyo but after college moved to New York and lived there for 10 years. Now she is working in Beijing.

Episode III: Persian tale - H (32, Iranian, PHD of Medical science, now studying and working in Beijing)

Studying overseas alone means hard-up life and spiritual isolation. 4 years ago still naive medical-school graduate - a young Aryan-blooded Iranian boy came to Beijing for Phd study in Traditional Chinese Medicine. 1 year later when his Chinese was still rusty he met with a Beijing girl who can speak native english as applying for his permanent residence in Beijing. The girl then was waiting in the same line to apply for laissez-passer to HK, then writing and filling up the form. He came up with her because to him, this Chinese girl was lovely, sorta weird-dressed. She helped him to ask officials some questions confusing him, he felt very grateful to her. After that, she disappeared.

He knew she was away from Beijing to HK. Three years later she came back to Beijing. She dialed his number by accident and he still remembered her and they met again.

He 's so happy and this time grateful of God to have her again. Several times they had sex. But after sex, she disappeared again. When they reunited he said to her:" J, I cried upon your leaving and created lines of poems out of despaire."

Now self-professed a "senior Beijinger himself", he always likes having a walk when has time, but mostly he has to work hard in his pursuit of further study in Chinese herbs and medicine to attain his Phd degree, and after that, post-Doc. He's not sure where he will go after this but each time he walks alone, he wishes she could be by his side.
